Our Beginning

Meraki Mentors began with a few burning questions and a contest. In the Spring of 2018, encouraged by the Spotify SoundUp Bootcamp competition, Candace Howze submitted a proposal for the early stages of what would become Meraki Mentors. With a drive to tell her story and bring female creatives together, she launched a plan to create a podcast that would inspire and inform women about the thrills and challenges of living creatively, while promoting the amazing projects of women artists around the world.

“Creation is the ultimate exhibition of liberation.”

Our Mission

Women have a powerful history of innovation and influence, yet their voices in the history books–and on museum walls–are often marginalized. At Meraki Mentors, the work women do every day to create art and imagine new space is placed at centerstage. We are honest, raw, empathetic, and unencumbered. If we were a hashtag we'd be #NoFilter. And we're here to let you know that your dreams are the blueprint to your story. Our testimonies may be a guiding light to realizing your own.
